This annual business to business conference attracts top industry experts from all over the world, providing a platform for moving the global conversation of cannabis forward. Starting in 2016, this will be the 4th annual CanEx Jamaica, featuring keynote speakers; Vincente Fox, Former President of Mexico, Steve DeAngelo, Founder of Harborside, Bruce Linton, Founder of Canopy Growth Corp, and Cam Battley, CCO of Aurora Cannabis Inc. These keynotes are only a few of the more than 60 speakers and panelists who will be sharing their expertise and knowledge with an expected audience of over 3000 professionals, from more than 30 different countries.
Our CEO, Heather DeRose, is speaking on the Healing with Cannabis: Real Life Stories panel, in the Science & Medicine Track from 11:00 - 11:45am, on Friday, September 27th. This panel will explore testimony of real life impact cannabis has made on health. Other speakers on the panel include, Lolita Korneagay, a Registered Nurse and the Founder of Cansoom, a medical cannabis consultant company, and Christopher Jordan Wallace, who is the Founder of Think BIG, a social movement and company challenging people to discover how cannabis and hemp can be used as tools for creativity, contemplation, and healing. βCJ started Think BIG as part of his search to understand his responsibility to the legacy of his late father, Christopher George Latore Wallce, also known as The Notorious B.I.G.β
Our COO, Antonio DeRose, is also speaking in the Science and Medicine Track on September 27th, from 3:00 - 4:00pm, on the Sports, Cannabis and CBD Panel. The discussions will take a look at the present and future role of cannabis in the sports and athletics industry. The panel will also feature Former NBA Champion, vegan activist, and cannabis entrepreneur John Salley, as well as Olanzo Jarrett and Dr. Sandra A Acosta. Jarrett is a former outside linebacker for the Canadian Football League and current Principal Co-Founder of the NFP, Jamaican American Football Association, as well as the Founder and CEO of Hummingbird International Group. Dr. Acosta is a Neuroscientist and Pharmacologist, and the Founder and CEO of Biomedical Pharms.
