420 Run Project by UltraRunner Timberlin Henderson

Q & A with UltraRunner Timberlin Henderson

Why are you running 420 miles this year?

I'm running 420 miles to help show just how much running can benefit one's life and their community. Cannabis and hemp can be viewed and portrayed in a negative way and in doing this run, I'm hoping to end the negativity of cannabis and show the world just how much people can benefit from cannabis and hemp.

Where are you running the 420 miles?

I will start the 420 RUN PROJECT in Monterey, CA on October 3rd, where Stigma Wellness was created and will end my run just outside Humboldt County.

How long will it take?

I have given myself 4-5 days to complete this run.

Do you have checkpoints you’re stopping at along the way?

There will be certain trailheads where I will use as my aid station points. I will know exactly which ones as we get closer to the event.

Are you running for a charity?

I will be running for Fundamental Needs which is a nonprofit organization that helps communities with resources that they don’t have a lot of like water and electricity.

What did you learn from the races you already completed this year? How are they helping you prepare for your 420 mile challenge?

What I learned from my races this year is to be patient, trust in my progress and to always remember my purpose. Each race has taught me exactly what I need to be working on and what I am improving on. These races have helped me prepare for my 420 RUN PROJECT by making me more efficient and stronger.

What motivates you to run?

What motivates me to run is simply seeing running as my medicine. Some people go to their bathroom mirror, open it and grab an orange bottle to start their day because it was prescribed by a doctor who doesn’t see you as worthwhile; just another patient to keep alive for the pharmacy industry. For me that is not the case, I believe in the natural form of life. For me running makes me the richest man in the world.

How can others support you?

I will have everything up on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook. There you will have live updates, links to donate to the charity, and other cool stuff. Also, I will be creating a GoFundMe which will help with the 420 RUN PROJECT. Any excess funds that are left after the 420 RUN PROJECT will be donated to Fundamental Needs

What’s the longest distance you’ve ever ran?

Around 161 miles, but I definitely know I can do much more now.

What goals do you have for the future?

My future goals are to compete in some big races like the Hardrock 100, Western States 100, Hurt 100, Cocodona 250, Moab 240, Bigfoot 200, Tahoe 200 and other UTMB races. Another big project I would like to do in the future is to run the Navajo Long Walk and set the FKT for it.

Who are your sponsors?

Green House Healthy, GoPro, Skullcandy, Stigma Wellness, and Gnarly Sports Nutrition.
